This is a research project in the Tangible and Reciprocal Shape Changing Interfaces theme. The purpose of this research project is to investigate how shape changing interfaces can express emotion.

A shape changing interface was created with the goal of examining peoples perception of emotion. Due to circumstances I decided to put this project on hold and proceed in a later stadium.

This Module provided me an alternative approach for starting a design process. Starting by gathering feelings that are evoked by pictures from materials. From these feelings a symbolic notion was extracted and used as starting point to design interactive materiality.

The theoretical part of this elective was very complicated. As can be seen in the feedback I received, my positioning and reflection on the literature lacked. This is mostly caused by the amount of information and it being the first time to do such an extensive reflection on literature.
